The National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) and Century College's Continuing Education/Customized Training division are pleased to announce a new non-credit training opportunity for kitchen and bath design professionals offered entirely online. The six-course program represents the first time the NKBA has partnered with a college or university to offer online professional development. The courses begin Aug. 21, 2006.
Curriculum for the NKBA online kitchen and bath designer courses is based on the specifications encouraged by the NKBA and is supported by the use of NKBA reference and resource materials, including the NKBA Kitchen and Bath Planning Guidelines and the new nine-volume NKBA Professional Resource Library. These books are the most definitive source of up-to-date information in the kitchen and bath field.
Courses may be taken individually or as a full curriculum. Pre-requisites may apply. Courses begin Aug. 21, 2006, and run through March 2007. Individual courses last eight to nine weeks each.
Courses are taught by Century College faculty, who are NKBA-certified kitchen educators/designers. The curriculum has been successfully implemented by Century College in both a classroom and online environment as part of its Kitchen and Bath Design Certificate Program, endorsed by NKBA since 2003. These new non-credit online courses are designed to help students gain or upgrade their professional skills, prepare for NKBA certification and better serve their clients. Successful completion of each course allows participants to earn NKBA educational hours applied toward their next certification level or as continuing education credits for maintaining certification.
The NKBA online kitchen and bath designer courses include:
The NKBA has more than 46 colleges and universities across North America that teach NKBA standards and are endorsed by the association.
The NKBA endorsed programs were created to serve the professional needs of the industry and ensure consistent, quality education for individuals who desire to become kitchen/bathroom design professionals. The selection of Century College as the exclusive partner for online professional development courses exemplifies NKBA's confidence in the quality of the Century College Kitchen and Bath Design program and faculty, as well as Century's track record in presenting credit and non-credit courses entirely online.
